POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the management and administration of the Finance Department including the preparation, administration and monitoring of: operating and capital budgets, monthly accounting, financial planning and reporting. Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in accounting, business finance or related field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a finance or business environment
• Experience in supervisor or management in finance field
• CGA, CMA or CA designation is an asset
• Solid knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting procedures; GAAP principles.
• High attention to detail and good leadership skills
• Excellent knowledge and proven work experience with all accounting modules using Sage 300 or Sage Intact Accounting software
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Applications specifically with Word and Excel
• Excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good time management skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, honesty, integrity and reliability
• Strong work ethics with an ability to manage confidential data.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
• Valid “G” driver’s license is an asset
• Ability to communicate in the Cree language would be an asset
