Northern College is seeking a Cook in our Tikinagan Childcare Centre. The successful candidate will be able to manage their time effectively, work both alone and in a team, be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy. The incumbent will demonstrate knowledge of working within Health and Safety guidelines and proper food handling techniques. In addition, they will demonstrate patience, empathy and friendliness towards the children and their parents/guardians. Experience working in the janitorial area is considered an asset.

Reporting to the Moosonee Campus Manager, the successful candidate will perform duties associated with preparing and delivery of daily meals.
What you will be doing:
• Prepare meals and snacks for children in the daycare centre;
• Prepare food according to allergies/sensitivities of the children;
• Clean and disinfect kitchen to Ministry of Health standards;
• Properly store and maintain inventory of food and cleaning products;
• Follow approved menu plan; and
• Deliver food to the daycare centre.
What you will need to be considered:
• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Food Handler Certification or equivalent;
• 1.5 years of related practical experience; and
• Ability to provide proof of required immunizations.
