1 (ONE) PERMANENT FULL-TIMESOCIAL WORKERS / CHILD & FAMILY CLINICIANS
Bargaining Unit positons-37.5 hours per week
Within a family-centered approach to working with families, the Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre (CT CTC) provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth living in the Districts of Cochrane and Temiskaming and in James Bay area communities.
Duties:
The Social Worker/Child and Family Clinician provides a range of services including assessment, consultation, and intervention planning to assist children and youth and their families in understanding and coping with disability and achieving their optimum potential and functional independence. The Social Worker/Child and Family Clinician also assists children, youth, and their families in the areas of self-advocacy and life transitions.
The Social Worker/Child and Family Clinician works within a strength-based approach and applies a range of therapeutic modalities as clinically appropriate, including but not limited to brief solution-focused therapy, grief counselling, supportive counselling and psychoeducation . He/she may work with therapy assistants and other members of the Service Coordination and Family Support team as appropriate and provide leadership to groups, assist with service coordination, provide family education, support CT CTC service delivery processes and engage in public awareness activities
The Social Worker/Child and Family Clinician is part of a multidisciplinary team and functions in accordance with the policies, philosophies, mission, vision and values of the organization.
Requirements:
· Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology , Counseling Psychology or related field -
· Undergraduate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in related field will be considered
· Bilingual with superior proficiency in English and French (written and verbal) – essential for 1 position
· Member in good standing of Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)-or eligible to become a member- essential
· Possess a valid Driver’s License-essential
· Experience in working children and youth with special needs and their families -asset
· Clear vulnerable persons screen check- essential
