The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Crisis Social Worker.

Permanent Full-time (Hours vary from 12 pm to 8 pm and 10 am to 6 pm)

What You’ll Do
• Complete Mental Status Exams to help inform ER physicians in formulating a patient’s status and                 capacity for treatment decisions according to the Mental Health Act and to inform treatment plans for       discharge.
• Provides collegial information sharing on mental health/chemical dependency issues to Weeneebayko    Area Health Authority Nursing Stations, health providers, schools, and community partners.
• Provide mental health support to inpatients
• Maintain and enhance knowledge of practice and regulations according to the Mental Health Act
• Advanced knowledge and practice skills concerning crisis intervention, risk management, and                    psychiatric assessments. Knowledge and skills in critical Incident Stress Debriefing

What You Bring
• Degree in social work is required
• Masters’ Degree in Social Work is preferred
• One-year recent related experience in a crisis or emergency psychiatry setting or three years recent          related experience in acute psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry or an equivalent combination of education,    training and experience.
• Must be in good standing as a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers
